What is Neurotherapy?
The activities taking place inside your brain is a process that is constantly changing, moving and responding. Your mind responds to the outer world around you, but also to your inner world of thought, perception and emotion, sending signals to the body for it to adjust to find the optimal balance and state. The vital rhythms in your brain define your life, health and performance.
But what if this activity is out of balance? Many modern health problems like anxiety, concentration difficulties, tension headaches, sleep problems and depression could arise.
Neurotherapy allows us to view the rhythms and waves taking place inside the brain, pinpointing where the unbalance or irregularity is and how it is affecting your life. With the help of a neurotherapist you are then taught how to inhibit and control these irregularities.

FAQs about Neurotherapy
First, electrodes are placed on your head and ears using a sticky gel. These electrodes are responsible for reading and measuring the waves and rhythms in your brain and is plugged into a laptop where the data is recorded. You will then start playing a game on the laptop. Our most popular game is Space Race. During this game, three space jets are flying through space and represent a specific wave in your brain. If you have too many anxious rhythms, for example, the “anxious” jet flies faster than the calm jet. Your neuro-therapist will tell you which techniques to use to get the anxious jet to slow down. For example, breathing slowly in through your nose and out through your mouth. When these different techniques are followed your “calm” jet starts to fly faster than your anxious jet and the game sends out a beeping sound to let you know what you’re doing is effecting your brainwaves positively. Your scores and data are kept and logged after every session, so that your neuro-therapist can monitor your process.
After your first consultation at The ADD Lab, you could be sent for a QEEG. Once these results are discussed and a treatment plan is laid out you will commence with a number of Neurotherapy sessions.
This varies from patient to patient and depends on the severity of your case. You could receive the minimum of 10 sessions or a maximum of 40 sessions.
A minimum of one session a week is required. Most patients receive two sessions per week. Others choose to do more a week.

No. The electrodes can only measure the activity on your brain.
It is rare, but some patients experience tiredness and headaches after a Neurotherapy session. Normally this die effect does not last more than a few hours.
